Bengaluru: The ‘Color My City’ project, which seeks to transform the city’s walls and public spaces into attractive and meaningful artistic expressions, has begun with great enthusiasm. Organized by ‘Color My City’ in collaboration with local artists, this initiative aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city.

The project is being implemented in various phases. In the first phase, walls in areas like Basavanagudi, Jayanagar, and Indiranagar have been selected for murals. Renowned artists and art enthusiasts are participating in the painting work, creating vibrant and diverse designs that reflect the city’s culture and heritage.

The project’s objective is to spread positive messages, promote social awareness, and foster community participation through art.

Street art, graffiti, and other forms of public art have long been a part of urban landscapes worldwide. However, the ‘Color My City’ project differs by focusing on curated and meaningful artwork rather than spontaneous, often unsanctioned, expressions. The project aims to create a visual narrative that resonates with the city’s identity and values.

The project collaborates with local artists, art colleges, and cultural organizations, providing a platform for emerging talent while enriching the urban environment. The themes for the paintings include nature, local festivals, historical events, and social issues, all depicted in a visually appealing manner.

Through this initiative, the city’s appearance is expected to be transformed, creating a more vibrant and inspiring environment for its residents and visitors.
