ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Kiran

WHERE I COME FROM
I am Kiran Uppar, an Architect by profession and a postgraduate in Town Planning from London. Since my early years, I have been deeply committed to public service, civic responsibility, and youth empowerment. My journey in social and community work began as a member of ABVP and continued through various leadership roles, including serving as the State Youth Executive Member of BJP, where I led the highest BJP membership drive in the state.
During my student days at KLE BVB College of Engineering, I was actively involved in student-led initiatives and was honored with the Best Student Award for my all-round contributions. Even during my Master’s studies in London, I volunteered with Oxfam, an international charity working to uplift underprivileged communities.
In pursuit of my passion for urban improvement, I founded the Color My City Foundation—an initiative dedicated to city beautification, creating clean and poster-free environments, and transforming government schools into vibrant spaces for children to learn and grow. This work has changed both the visual identity and mindset of many communities.
As an Architect, I have worked on several spiritual, cultural, and civic projects across Karnataka:
-
Panchamasali Samudaya Bhavan and Rani Chennamma Statue in Shiggaon (in collaboration with Shri Vachanananda Swamiji, unveiled by Hon. Ex-CM Basavaraj Bommai)
-
Development of Shirahatti Pakkireshwar Muth (with Shri Pakkireshwar Swamiji)
-
Development of Balehosur Muth (with Shri Dingaleshwar Swamiji)
-
Projects with Maratha Samaj (Shri Bharati Swamiji) and Uppar Samaj (Shri Purushottamananda Swamiji)
-
Installation of Ambedkar Statue in Shiggaon
During the COVID-19 pandemic, while many were confined to their homes, I dedicated myself entirely to community service. I:
-
Painted public walls in Hubli with awareness messages about COVID-19 and tributes to Corona Warriors
-
Distributed food kits, masks, and medical essentials daily to those in need
-
Assisted patients with hospital beds and facilitated vaccination efforts
I also founded the North Karnataka Graduate Forum, aimed at supporting youth by connecting them to job opportunities, conducting career awareness programs, and building a bridge between North Karnataka and reputed companies.
My long-term commitment to sustainability is reflected in the annual tree-plantation drives I organize in collaboration with NGOs and civic groups. I’ve proudly partnered with Round Table India, Ladies Circle, Rotary Club, and Lions Club to deliver numerous impactful community initiatives across the region.
Through all my work, I have maintained a life of discipline, driven by purpose, with no personal vices. My mission is clear—to serve society, empower youth, uplift the underprivileged, and leave a legacy of positive change for future generations.
Thank you.
A THRIVING CAREER
Kiran’s career brings together planning, design and public service. Using his training in architecture and town planning, he has been involved in community-focused work that promotes cleanliness, civic awareness and public participation in Hubballi–Dharwad. He has consistently worked with volunteers, students, artists and local residents to strengthen community engagement across the twin cities.
He has contributed to several well-recognised initiatives such as Colour My City Foundation, which revitalises neglected public spaces through clean-up and painting drives; Hasiru Hubballi Greenathon, a movement encouraging tree-planting and environmental responsibility; and the Plastic-Free Hubli–Dharwad campaign, which promotes better waste practices and reduced plastic use through collective action. These efforts highlight his long-term commitment to citizen-driven change and urban improvement.
MISSION STATEMENT
Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s guiding principles emphasise inclusive development, cultural rootedness, service to society and empowerment of the last person — an approach shaped by Integral Humanism, Antyodaya and “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” The party encourages civic responsibility, youth involvement, self-reliance and progress that reaches every section of society.
As District President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Dharwad, Kiran’s work reflects these values through practical, community-facing initiatives. His efforts with Colour My City Foundation, Hasiru Hubballi Greenathon and Plastic-Free Hubli–Dharwad demonstrate his belief in grassroots leadership and sustained citizen participation. Through youth engagement, public awareness and collective action, he aims to advance the kind of development and opportunity that BJP envisions for every community.
