Hasiru Hubballi Greenathon:
Planting a greener future in infrastructure development
At the heart of our commitment to a sustainable Hubli-Dharwad lies the Hasiru Hubballi Grenathon, a transformative tree-planting initiative co-founded by Kiran Uppar in 2010. This annual program, organized in collaboration with the Horticulture Department of Hubli-Dharwad, brings together citizens, volunteers, and local leaders to plant 2,500 trees across the twin cities each year, fostering environmental awareness and community engagement.

The Hasiru Hubballi Grenathon is more than just a tree-planting drive—it’s a movement to inspire environmental responsibility and empower every citizen to contribute to a greener, healthier future. By addressing pressing ecological concerns, we aim to combat climate change, enhance urban green spaces, and promote sustainable living in Hubli-Dharwad.
Since its inception, the Grenathon has mobilized thousands of residents to participate in this noble cause, creating a ripple effect of environmental consciousness. Each tree planted represents a step toward cleaner air, reduced urban heat, and a stronger connection between our community and nature. The initiative has not only beautified our cities but also sparked conversations about the role every individual plays in preserving our planet.
Inaugurated by former Chief Minister Shri Jagadish Shettar, the Hasiru Hubballi Grenathon has grown into a cornerstone of our city’s environmental efforts. By partnering with local authorities and engaging citizens of all ages, we ensure that this initiative remains a sustainable, annual tradition that continues to inspire and unite.
