Colour My City Foundation
Founded by Kiran Uppar and launched in 2016, the ‘Color My City’ campaign began as an initiative to engage artists and students in painting public spaces and promoting cleanliness in Hubballi-Dharwad. The idea for street painting came from the challenges of dirty posters spread around the city walls, making Hubballi-Dharwad untidy.

Kiran gathered youths to participate in the Colour My City initiative and build their city step-by-step which has spread awareness and fostered a positive mindset in the community. This has helped to revitalize public spaces, foster community pride, and create a more vibrant environment as well as bring together talented youths to create positive change.
In 2017, the foundation extended its efforts with an anti-peeing campaign, where volunteers offered roses to individuals caught urinating on walls, aiming to promote cleanliness and advocate for more public toilets. Today, Hubballi-Dharwad has several beautifully painted city walls, bridges, pillars and bus stops encouraging public participation to maintain the paintings and keep the city clean.
This campaign also introduced the ‘Pledge for Clean City’ initiative, encouraging citizens to maintain cleanliness and take responsibility for painted structures. Colour My City has collaborated with local organizations like Lions Club, Rotary Club, and Sanskriti College of Visual and Performing Arts, engaging artists, students, and volunteers.
